Today, we will travel southeast through the lush green countryside to reach Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is renowned for its picturesque landscapes and diverse wildlife and is situated along the western shores of Lake Edward. Today, we are going on another game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Additionally, there’s an option to go on a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. This is an exciting opportunity to see the park from a different perspective and get up close with water birds, hippos and Nile crocodiles.
Day 5: Safari and drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park
This morning, we will have our final game drive at Queen Elizabeth National Park, hoping to spot more wildlife species. Afterwards, we will head south towards the misty mountains of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which is one of the last remaining habitats of the endangered mountain gorillas.
Day 6: Trek to see mountain gorillas!
Today, we will embark on a guided hike at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in search of a gorilla troop. The hike is a delightful experience, as we will walk through an ancient and pristine forest filled with diverse wildlife. The trip’s highlight will be spending an hour in the company of a gorilla troop, observing them as they groom themselves and enjoy their diet of fruit, leaves and shoots. We might even see some of the infants playing around with a bit of luck. Afterwards, we will drive to Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 7: Canoe to Bunyonyi’s islands
Today, we will spend some time enjoying the lake and its surroundings. We can do many activities, such as paddling in a traditional dugout canoe to explore some of the islands in the lake and have lunch there. You can also swim, as there are no crocodiles in Lake Bunyonyi. Moreover, you can also take a fun zip line into the water! Additionally, there are plenty of hiking trails to choose from. Later in the day, we will drive to Lake Mburo National Park.
Day 8: Lake Mburo cycling safari
Today, we have a relaxing day at the park. This park is home to leopards, hippos, hyenas, zebras, elands, buffaloes, reedbucks, and baboons. The park contains 20% wetland areas, which makes it very lush. The highlight of our day was going on a guided bicycle safari in the morning. This park is one of the few places in Uganda where you can also enjoy night-time and horseback safaris.
Day 9: Equator visit and departure
Today, we will be driving towards Kampala, the capital city located towards the east. During our journey, we will stop at the Equator sign for lunch. Don’t forget to take a group picture while straddling the Earth’s most famous line! After lunch, we will take you to the airport and say goodbye, hoping to see you again soon.

Posted on AliceOn2road One word : outstanding This trip in Ouganda will remain one of the most outstanding journeys I made so far. On one hand because the country is full of wonders (landscapes, animals, villages) and on the other hand thanks to this amazing guide we had : Moses. Not only has he been a good teacher, knowing very well his country and making us discovering a lot of things, but he turned out to be one of the kindest man : always doing his best to make us live the greatest trip. Eye-sniper to help us find the animals during safaris, teaching us words and songs, dancing in the car, offering us many kinds of fruits… We shared a lot of things : talks, songs, laughs, food, thoughts… We built a strong complicity and he became part of our best memories.
